If removed incorrectly the ticks head will be left in the skin and run the risk of giving us a nasty infection. If treating a paralysis tick, if removed incorrectly or with the wrong tool the tick can become freaked out and release the neurotoxin into the host, YOU! Or your pet.

Ixodes holocyclus, commonly known as the Australian paralysis tick, is one of about 75 species of Australian tick fauna and is considered the most medically important.
